Motorola is Kicking Off the Big Conversation About Smart Living At CeBIT 2001

Motorola, at CeBIT, is presenting ground breaking, Intelligence Everywhere(TM) products and technologies to deliver smart solutions to four key daily life environments: the home, work team, the auto and for the person, aiming to ensure seamless communication whenever and wherever you are; whatever device you use.
For the person
Motorola is the only company to deliver GPRS handsets in volume. At CeBIT the company is showcasing its new extended five product strong GPRS portfolio, demonstrating its leadership in delivering the mobile Internet. The GPRS portfolio includes:
- Timeport 280 phone, a phone that can help keep the busy executive "in sync" with business even when they are out of the office.
- Accompli 008, the all-in-one, state of the art handset, incorporating phone, large touch screen, handwriting recognition, full e-mail, synchronised PIM - and the ability to add new applications through J2ME technology.
- V.series 66, Motorola's small iconic clamshell phone adds global chic with triband capability.
- Timeport 260, Motorola's original, first commercially available, tri-band GPRS phone.
- Talkabout 192 phone, a consumer friendly phone with animated screen savers and iTap predictive texting for quick and simple text messaging.
At CeBIT Motorola is also presenting for the first time a full range of six product concepts that incorporate new and unique ways to communicate with each other and the environment and access data services, redefining the dimensions of daily life.
- Mood Hood: This funky design harnesses the power of wireless and broadband to create a networked soundtrack to your life that will always be with you and can be shared with friends.
- Life Recorder: Using state-of-the-art smart technology, Motorola's Life Recorder collates images, sounds, messages and notes from your life into a networked diary which can be shared.
- Always Connected: A view master device offering permanent connection to colleagues, messages and data.
- Hearing Hand: Motorola's wearable technology can send tonal feedback from smart tags on merchandise back to a wireless earbud, allowing the users to access information such as size and price.
- Shared Knowledge: This concept is able to capture reality and share knowledge seamlessly during remote meetings, while accessing shared data for the ultimate in management efficiency. Other features include natural interaction and multimedia conferencing with other users in digital environments.
- Other's Eyes: Video and sounds to enhance communication through messages and conversations. Wherever you are, your family can literally share a day in your life, seeing the things you do via the Motorola Other Eyes miniaturized camera.

Auto
In the car environment, Motorola is showcasing its Internet enabled telematics and infotainment solution Motorola's iRadio system product. This technology offers a packaged multimedia functionality, which can be accessed at home, in the car and on the individual mobile devices. The Java-based platform allows the product to access personalised, location-based services, real time traffic information, dynamic off-board navigation, music-on- demand, eCommerce options and email. With speech recognition and additional features, Motorola's iRadio system delivers information, communications and entertainment to the car without diverting the driver's attention.
Work Team
As a leading provider of TETRA technology, Motorola is proud to announce, its new 2nd generation TETRA handset, the MTH500; a stylish yet robust, digital 2-way radio, incorporating high performance mobile technology and advanced messaging. The "TETRA room" will offer a choice of applications and solutions, for mission critical communications including applications using TETRA Packet Data Service based on IP as well as voice communication.
Live demonstrations will focus on the Public Safety and Government markets.
At Home
Providing leading edge communications solutions and devices for the home, Motorola is showcasing a variety of technical developments. These include: Internet based technology products that allow consumers to surf the Internet and talk simultaneously using only a single connection and modems that are over ten times faster than the quickest telephone modems currently available on the market. Plus innovative all digital and analogue network solutions which, with the help of the Dvi range of set top boxes, enable users to watch TV, use the Internet and chat with friends - all at the same time.
New Applications
Motorola will also be demonstrating the industry's most advanced set of GPRS applications at CeBIT. These cross over the four essential environments and range from:
- Motorola m-Wallet: A mobile e-commerce solution, that makes it simple and securer for users to purchase goods on merchant sites.
- Motorola Mobile Office Solutions: Extend to mobile users access to key office applications, such as email, calendar and contacts.

- Who wants to be a millionaire?: Fun and interactive wireless game application based on the well-known TV game show.
- Virtual Pet: Care and nurture a creature from birth throughout the stages of its virtual life.
- Virtual Date: Win the heart of a boyfriend/girlfriend through a series of lifestyle events.
- Trivial Pursuit: Compelling wireless game based on the world's leading trivia game.
Digital imaging applications with Lightsurf: Attach the camera to the mobile handset to capture and share images anywhere at anytime.
Other demonstrations include downloading of new applications to handsets over-the-air using J2ME technology, instant messaging/chat and mobile auction applications.
