Motorola Introduces New Talkabout T6320 Two-Way Radio

Feb. 28, 2001--Once again redefining the two-way radio communications category, Motorola Inc. today announced the nationwide availability of the new Motorola Talkabout T6320 two-way radio.
Within the family of the recently debuted Talkabout T6300 two-way radio series, the T6320 model takes Motorola's diverse set of Family Radio Service (FRS) offerings to their highest level. New features such as a digital compass, altimeter, barometer and thermometer make the Talkabout T6320 well-suited for outdoor adventurers, and complement privacy and safety features found throughout the T6300 series. These weather-resistant, ergonomically designed, award-winning products deliver rugged Motorola quality and clear communications.

All models in the Talkabout T6300 two-way radio series include a transmission range of up to two miles (depending upon terrain and conditions) along with the option for hands-free use. They have basic privacy features including 14 channels, each with 38 codes to minimize interference. Further, all two-way radios in the series offer privacy enhancing features including voice scramble and unique noise suppression capabilities that help reduce eavesdropping and chatter from outside a user's group.

Additionally, the T6300 series two-way radios include safety features like the ability to receive National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) weather radio broadcasts and audible alerts when severe weather warnings are issued. This helps ensure that changes in the weather will no longer take adventurers by surprise. To help users stay on schedule, these two-way radios are even equipped with a built-in clock, alarm and stopwatch.

The manufacturer's suggested retail price for the Motorola Talkabout T6320 ranges from $159.99 - $179.99 per radio. A complete line of Motorola audio, power and carry accessories (including an earpiece with boom microphone, waterproof bag, arm pack with belt carry case and vehicle power adapter) is available to further enhance users' activities. The two-way radios require no licensing or servicing fee in the United States due to the FRS frequencies on which they operate. This band of radio frequencies was set aside by the Federal Communications Commission specifically for family and recreational use.
