Mio Announces Launch of Moov S-series

May 15, 2009–Announced at CES 2009, Mio's revolutionary navigation software, Mio Spirit, and the new Moov S-series navigation devices have been highly anticipated by consumers worldwide. Today, Mio proudly announces the global launch of the Mio Moov S-series and integrated Mio Spirit navigation software.

The Mio Moov S-series offers models with screen sizes of 3.5" to 7" and the breakthrough Mio Spirit navigation software, which boasts an easy-to-use intuitive user interface, complete functions for exploring places and more useful features to help plan your trip in intelligent economical ways. With the interplay between hardware and software, the Moov S-series can truly help users save money, time and effort whilst bringing more fun, confidence and happy memories.

Positioned to help users experience, get and save more, the Moov S300 features a 3.5" display at an affordable price so even budget-minded consumers can enjoy the breakthrough navigation experience that Mio Spirit brings. The Moov S500 range sports a 4.7" widescreen, 13.9mm ultra slim design and delivers a superb and comfortable screen view.

For users who want to go large and see more, Mio also launched the Moov S700 with 7-inch screen. The Moov S700 provides full multimedia support—A/V input, Digital TV support and Media Players, giving users the ability to convert their GPS device into a multimedia entertainment center on the move.

All Moov S-series models are equipped with the Mio Spirit, navigation software that offers an intuitive single menu control, relieving users of clicking back and forth to set up routes or find POI's. The user-centric Mio Spirit UI redefines the menu flow and map view with an intuitive Menu Button and menu control that provides quick access to the main menu and major functions at a touch of the screen. The newly designed TruMap™ map view, removes cluttered information on the top of the map, providing the clear and clean maps for easier navigation. Famous landmarks are provided in superb 3D to help you get a sense of where you are.

Moov S-series also gives consumers the ultimate confidence when approaching complex junctions. The Lane Guidance function displays clear lane instructions, whilst Junction Views provides realistic 3D images of signposts and turn indicators, for making the right turn at the right time.

To give consumers a total navigation experience, the Mio Moov S-series provides new ways to explore when you arrive at your destination or drive along the route. Different from the traditional POI search in PND's, where customers need to think about the store name first to find a place to explore, the innovative Explore Mode™ provides a new way to explore your surroundings by browsing maps and seeing all nearby POIs at a glance. Just click on any spot on the map, the POIs are displayed in an easy to read and intuitive way, which allows you to quickly find places worth visiting.

Keyword Search makes searching for POIS even more intuitive, allowing users to input keywords to find the place they need. Users can even combine keywords, like place and city names, for more specific search results. For richer POI content, the Mio Moov S-series models even includes an integrated Travel Book, for details like historical data, business hours and other useful facts.

In addition, the Moov S500 and S700 range provides a Capture Button for instantly recording details of journeys, locations or voice memos to My Places for future revisiting from their PC. The Moov S-series features the new Economical Routing function, to provide you with the most fuel-saving route. Other useful features, such as Speed Limit Warnings and real-time Traffic Alerts, also help you to drive safe and arrive at your destination quickly.

Google Maps™ is supported for users to pick a location on maps and transfer them directly to "My Place" for route planning. MioMore Desktop 2 PC software provides PC route planning function and NavPix™ Photo Navigation, which allows users to download free geo-encoded photos from Flickr™ and then transfer them for navigation.

For safer driving on the road, Moov S-series provides the Bluetooth® wireless technology for making the hand-free calling and keeping your hands on the road.
