Maytag's Floor Care Division Will Showcase Innovation at National Hardware Show
"Bagless cleaners have become increasingly popular with consumers, and in April we introduced two bagless models of our conventional Hoover upright vacuums at popular price points," said Keith G. Minton, president of Maytag's floor care division. "Now we're adding the bagless feature to our deluxe WindTunnel uprights to give consumers more choices with respect to convenience and cleaning performance."
All the Hoover bagless cleaners, plus a new Hoover WindTunnel Plus canister vacuum introduced in June, will be featured in Hoover's booth at the National Hardware Show in Chicago Aug. 13-16.
Minton said all the new products will contribute to the floor care division's financial performance in the second half of the year. The initial bagless products are currently available at all retailers. The WindTunnel Bagless models will be available in many locations by mid-September and at most retailers by mid-October. The new WindTunnel canister will be shipped to retailers throughout the third quarter.
The fully featured Hoover WindTunnel Bagless has a turbine-powered hand tool with a brush that can be attached to the hose and is ideal for use on stairs and upholstery. This model is expected to retail from $279 to $349, while the base WindTunnel Bagless is expected to sell for $259 to $329. The initial Hoover Bagless models, introduced in April, retail from $179 to $229.
The new Hoover WindTunnel canister vacuum also features a powered hand tool, as well as the addition of allergen filtration, full bag indicator and an agitator on/off switch located on the handle grip. It is expected to retail from $329 to $429. www.hoover.com
