Huffy Sports Continues to Light Up the Night

Adding to Successful Twilight(tm) Line of Lighted Products, Huffy Sports Introduces Light It Up(tm) Backboard and Twilight(tm) Lighted Basketball Net
September 25, 2001- Just over two years ago, Huffy Sports introduced the Twilight(tm) lighted basketball. The ball was a welcome innovation, allowing basketball players to get a game going after dark for the first time ever. The ball was even named the 2000 Sports Product of the Year by the Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association (SGMA) for its patented technology. But, the advent of the ball begged the question... what about the hoop? So, Huffy Sports took the "play after dark" spirit of the Twilight(tm) technology and created the Light It Up(tm) lighted backboard and rim and the Twilight Lighted Basketball Net.

The Light It Up backboard and rim is the next generation of Huffy Sports' lighted product, lighting the basketball goal and making it the perfect complement to the Twilight basketball. The Light It Up portable system features a 44" rectangular Eco-Composite® backboard with lighted target and lighted rim. Both parts are lit with a patented fiber-optic technology that is powered on and off with the push of a button on the underside of the backboard. The lighting system can be turned off during the day to save battery power, but the four AA batteries will light the board for over 100 hours of lighted play. The portable system features other Huffy innovations, including the Slam Jam® rim with Quick Clip(tm) safety net release system and Easy Glide(tm) height adjustment system. The Light It Up Combo can be installed on every Huffy portable and in-ground system.

The Twilight lighted basketball net is another new, patented innovation that Huffy Sports has developed to light the goal for basketball play. The Twilight lighted basketball net is an all-weather net that features a lighting system that lights up the net for night play. The lights turn on automatically with the first basket and remain on continuously. The lights also signal a basket by flashing on and off for 5 seconds every time the ball goes through the hoop. The lights automatically shut off after two minutes with no basket. The net fits all standard rims and can be used with or without a Twilight basketball. The unit uses one 2032 battery, which comes with the net, and is easily replaceable.
