Hot Chillys’ Peachskin Base Layers are Ripe for Winter
August 2004 -- Hot Chillys’ Peachskins base layers are ripe for the picking this winter with the addition of vibrant new colors including sky, rose, red and kiwi. Made from 100% Microfiber polyester, Peachskins feature a lightly sueded peach finish and a luster look. Silhouettes come in women’s, men’s and children’s sizes and include a traditional roll down turtleneck, a zip-T, a crewneck and bottoms.
With a soft, silky hand and a relaxed fit, Peachskins items have a broad appeal, especially to those who are fans of silk underwear. Unlike silk, Peachskins is a high performance moisture managing fabric that wicks away moisture to keep skiers, snowboarders, snowshoers – anybody sweating in winter conditions – warm and dry. While midweight and comfortable, the base layers provide a hefty warmth factor of “7” on a scale of 1-10.
“The Peachskins line was first introduced in winter ‘04 and is doing fabulous,” according to Guy Wells, president of Hot Chillys, the top manufacturer of base layers for the ski industry since 1985. “We attribute it to the soft silky hand and great colors in a high performance, relaxed-fit fabric.”
Based on retailers orders, the most popular Peachskins colors for winter ‘04 are sky, rose, red, kiwi and ivory for women, black, white, marine and red for men and white, rose, black, sky and red for kids. Black and white continue to be top sellers at ski shops nationwide as well. Other colors include moss, orchid, mango (women & kids only) blue (men and kids only), and dark blue.
Styles for women include a Zip-T, Roll Down Turtleneck, Crewneck, Bottom and Low Rise Bottom in sizes S-XL. Men also have a Zip-T, Roll Down Turtleneck, Crewneck and a Fly Bottom in sizes S-XXL. Kids’ styles consist of a Crewneck, Turtleneck and Bottom in sizes XS – XL. Prices range from $30-$35 retail for adult items and $26 to $30 for kids’.
