GWV Vacations Announce Slim-to-No Hurricane Damage
October 21, 2004 - GWV Vacations, a subsidiary of The Interface Group - Massachusetts, announced its "hot spot" destinations were virtually untouched by recent hurricane activity and will launch the season November 7 with a one-week SUPER Sale of deeply discounted vacations for those who book early to travel anytime or those looking for last-minute specials on warm getaways. Company representatives spoke before a group of 700 New England-area travel agents attending the 20th Annual GWV Vacations Product Launch at Gillette Stadium.
"The Caribbean is up, alert and open for business. From our destinations in St. Kitts, the Mayan Riviera, Curacao, Aruba or St. Lucia - to name just a few - families, couples and singles have a wide array of sunny, active or peaceful options to suit their interests," said Clay Kudisch, Chief Operating Officer for GWV Vacations. "We were lucky our destinations were spared by the hurricane's full force. Those with slight wind damage have used this as an opportunity to refurbish rooms and common areas to make them more beautiful in time for the high season."
Based in Needham, GWV Vacations, www.gwvvacations.com, has been the leading package travel provider to New Englanders for the past 33 years, flying out of Boston, Massachusetts; Providence, Rhode Island and Hartford, Connecticut to the Caribbean and Mexico. GWV Vacations Product Launch is the largest New England-area travel trade show to educate travel agents about new products and help build their relationships with hotel and airline representatives.
"The Caribbean has something for everyone's tastes. In Curacao, we are known for our culture, museums, cove beaches and easy transit from the United States," said Joel Grossman, North American Director of the Curacao Tourist Board. "Every island and area of Mexico has a different feel and experience - from haute cuisine and lounging on the sand to gambling or active travel with kiteboarding, diving, snorkeling and other land and water sports."
The Interface Group also announced their newest acquisition, Sunburst Holidays, which has been renamed Sunburst Vacations. Now, a new identity and an experienced team of travel and technology staff have been assembled to support Sunburst Vacations. This brand will serve over 37 destinations throughout the Caribbean, Islands of the Bahamas, Bermuda and Mexico. Sunburst Vacations' scheduled airline partners currently include American Airlines, US Airways, Air Jamaica, AeroMexico and Mexicana.
The upcoming Sunburst Vacations will offer enhanced client service for an attentive and personalized experience and a complimentary vacation protection plan.
"Sun Seekers want a trustworthy, responsive and high-quality vacation experience. The new Sunburst Vacations will offer that plus more. We're developing an effective online reservation system, a complimentary travel protection plan program and other personal service programs to put the focus where it should be - on the vacationer," said Elizabeth Beutel, Director of Marketing for Sunburst Vacations.
