Fujitsu to Debut Two New Notebooks Using Transmeta's Crusoe Processor

Fujitsu today announced that it will incorporate Transmeta's Crusoe processor into two new long battery life notebooks due out in early November.

Fujitsu is the second major notebook manufacturer to announce this month that it will bring Crusoe-based systems to market, taking advantage of the unique power saving capabilities of Transmeta's processor.

"Fujitsu is very strong in the notebook category," said Dave Ditzel, chief executive officer, Transmeta Corporation. "We are extremely pleased to help support their efforts to bring new, long battery life Crusoe-based notebooks to market."

The Fujitsu FM Biblo Loox S is a mobile communication PC weighing just 2.2 pounds with full Internet and Windows capabilities. It has up to eight hours of mobile use and measures 9.5" x 5.9" x 1.2."

Fujitsu's FM Biblo Loox T is a mobile multimedia PC with a built-in DVD player, weighing just 3.3 pounds. It has more than seven hours of mobile use and measures 10.3" x 7.2" x 1.2."

Earlier this month, Sony announced that it will use Crusoe in the company's newest VAIO PictureBook C1VN notebook computer. Sony said that Crusoe would nearly double the battery life of the new VAIO.
