Fujifilm Previews StudioMaster Pro for Professional Photographers

New Imaging Software Delivers High Functionality and ChoiceAugust 9, 2001 – Fuji Photo Film U.S.A., Inc. previewed the beta version of a new digital imaging software offering, StudioMaster PRO, at the recent PPA Imaging USA 2001 Show in Rosemont, IL. An integrated image and lab ordering application, StudioMaster PRO is designed to offer professional photographers complete creative control by allowing them to build a customer order that is transmitted directly to the photo processing lab. Additionally, the product’s ease-of-use and a robust functionality will enable photographers to deliver more effective customer presentations leading to higher levels of studio and lab revenue while increasing productivity.

“StudioMaster PRO will be the creative link between the customer and the lab. We are previewing Fujifilm technology that will integrate and simplify the professional portrait workflow,” said Tom Curley, Director of Marketing, Commercial Imaging Division Fuji Photo Film U.S.A., Inc. “Fujifilm is dedicated to doing whatever it takes to provide industry professionals with the best applications possible to utilize the photography method of choice.”

Created by Fujifilm e-Systems, StudioMaster PRO is designed to interface only with the specific order entry system of the professional color lab being used. The lab completes the order using the PIC Pro 2.0 lab management system that interfaces with Fujifilm Frontier Digital Lab System Series 350/370/390.

FEATURES & BENEFITS
The initial version of StudioMaster PRO allows for digital images, such as those captured by the FinePix S1 PRO Digital Camera to be presented. In the near future, support for scanning color negatives will be included.

StudioMaster PRO allows for retouching prints within the application and the ability to drag the image into Adobe PhotoShop™ for permanent file retouching. Photographers can select, crop, color correct, and apply contrast correction as desired — even change an image to black and white, if so desired.

Photographers will have the ability to offer a slide show preview to clients, use templates to illustrate the album arrangement, or upload images to the Web.

StudioMaster PRO allows photographers to create the order for the lab and view the order summary that shows order by print size, price of each print, image number, number of prints, complete order, the total number of prints ordered, and the total price.

This streamlined order fulfillment function allows the photographer to save the completed order to a CD for printing by the professional lab. Some labs using StudioMaster PRO may offer FTP order uploads.
