Fujifilm Celebrates Tenth Anniversary of PhotoPals

10/16/2001 -- This year marks the tenth anniversary of Fujifilm PhotoPals, a dynamic and FREE educational program, developed by Fuji Photo Film U.S.A., Inc. and Scholastic Inc. For more than a decade, this program has successfully matched students across the country for letter and photo exchanges. Bringing classrooms, teachers and students together, PhotoPals provides great opportunities to share teaching and learning experiences while supporting curriculum goals for Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, Visual Arts and Geography. One of the new elements of the program is the Fujifilm PhotoPals Web site, www.fujifilmphotopals.com. It is even easier for teachers to access curriculum ideas and offers more ways for students to interact with each other. Students will learn about photography and have the opportunity to share pictures with their PhotoPals and even create their own class homepage. The site is filled with cross-curricular lessons, educational activities, links to additional resources and great new tools to help motivate students.

Fujifilm PhotoPals are matched up with the same grade in another part of the country to share photos, lessons and activities. PhotoPals stresses the important role photography plays in all forms of communication, including letters, journalism and schoolwork. Within the curriculum are innovative lessons that strengthen the coursework of students in grades 3-6. Teachers will find activities, games and photo sharing ideas that teach about the environment and the important role photography plays in communicating ideas.
