Fobis Technologies Develops New Version of Weemote
Next Generation Children's Remote Control Is Unveiled at The American International Toy Fair
NEW YORK, Feb. 8 -- Fobis Technologies, Inc., (http://www.weemote.com) today announced that it will display the latest version of its weemote children's television remote control, called weemote 2 at the American International Toy Fair. The company will be exhibiting at the Jacob Javitts center, booth #4243 from February 11-15, 2001. The weemote enables parents to program specific channels on a brightly colored remote control device that is easy and fun for children to use. Parents select the channels they want their children to view, using the secure parental program function. Children can press the button for their favorite channel, or even "surf" only those channels that have been programmed into the weemote.
The newest features in the latest weemote 2 allow it to work in a broader variety of entertainment systems such as TV/VCR's and Personal Video Recording devices such as TiVo and Replay. It also offers several enhancements such as added support of up to ten safe-channels. An optional security feature now allows the weemote 2 to change to a safe programmed channel when the child presses the power button.
"The original weemote launched at Toy Fair last year has really captivated the attention of mothers and grandparents concerned with violence and inappropriate behavior on television. These new enhancements in the weemote 2, all of which were customer requested, make this great product even more compelling. This new design even retains the same ease-of-use interface for parent and child found in the current weemote," stated John Stephen, President and CEO.
The weemote is now considered the industry leader in remote control products utilizing parental controls. The weemote 2 will have a suggested retail price of $29.95 and will be available for purchase in March 2001.
