Excalibur Electronics to Launch Plug-n-Play Video Games

April 20, 2005 – Get ready to throw out those pricey video game platforms that have a stranglehold on the market today and move onto the next generation of exciting (and affordable) video gaming. Anyone who follows the Toy Industry will tell you that Plug-n-plays are BURNING HOT. And Excalibur Electronics is about to become the Plug-n-Play King.

What are plug-n-plays?
Good question. They are gaming devices that you plug into a standard television set and without any additional connections you are ready to play one or several games self-contained in the unit. Without any proprietary platform, you can play sophisticated games on your television set for a fraction of the cost of video game systems such as X-Box and PlayStation. Plug-n-plays are growing in popularity because technology has allowed the price to become so affordable. Most of Excalibur's self-contained plug-n-play units cost under $30. That's a lot of fun for under $30.

Here's what's coming out this year:

WSOP 7-in-1 Casino Plug & Play ($29.95, available in late April)
It includes 7-games: Texas Hold 'em; Blackjack; Video Poker; Roulette; Craps; Slots; and Pai Gow Poker. This fun packed plug-n-play has a human voice and casino sound effects. It's one player against virtual gamblers. The voice will tell you if you win or lose. The computer keeps track of your bets, how much you have left and how much you've won. The sound effects make the action even more exciting. You'll hear the wheels spin in slots, the roulette wheel will click, and you'll hear dice roll on the table in craps.

WSOP 15-n-1 Plug & Play ($19.95, available in late April)
It includes the same 7-games found in the 7-in-1 (Texas Hold 'em; Blackjack; Video Poker; Roulette; Craps; Slots; Pai Gow Poker) plus it also has 5-card Draw; 7-card Stud; Baccarat; Acey-deucey; Big Six; Keno; Deuces Wild Video Poker; and Solitaire. These games also include vivid colors and casino sound effects.

WSOP Texas Hold 'Em 6-Player Plug & Play ($59.95, available in June)
6-players all can be human or any number can be virtual players. Excalibur already has a handheld electronic version of this game. Retailers and consumers have asked for a plug-n-play, and in June it will be available.

Mad Libs Plug & Play ($29.95, available in July)
Excalibur already has a Mad Libs handheld electronic game. This summer Mad Libs goes plug-n-play. Since 1953, kids of all ages have cracked up over the pages of Mad Libs. Play by yourself or against a friend to see who can write the goofiest Mad Lib story. Jumble nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs to create hilarious and obtuse stories.
