Epson Introduces New Four-Color Ink Jet Printer at $69

Epson today announced a new four-color ink jet printer priced at $69. The EPSON Stylus Color 580 combines the benefits of Epson's advanced Micro Piezo print head, quick-drying inks and easy-to-use output technology for home-focused, all-purpose printing.

"We've created a $69 color printer that gives customers everything they need right out of the box to get the most out of their printer," said Rodrigo Catalan, assistant product manager, consumer ink jet printers. "Unlike some other manufacturers' sub-$100 printers, you get the best performance possible from the printer without having to buy additional black or color photo cartridges that in some cases are necessary to maximize a printer's highest speed and image quality."

Compact, affordable and very easy to use, the EPSON Stylus Color 580 delivers sharp, colorful home printing with photo quality 1440 dpi output. Featuring Epson's award-winning Micro Piezo ink jet technology and ultra-small six picoliter ink droplets, this family-friendly printer is ideal for creating colorful greeting cards, Web pages, homework assignments and reports on a wide array of papers.

The Stylus Color 580 quickly delivers black text up to six pages per minute (ppm) and color text and graphics at up to 2.5 ppm.
