eGames Signs Agreement with Victory Simulations to Publish Xtreme Air

July 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- eGames Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: EGAM) announced today that it has signed a licensing agreement with Victory Simulations, Inc. to publish their cutting- edge flight simulation game Xtreme Air Racing.

Xtreme Air Racing is a highly detailed recreation of the "Worlds Fastest Motor Sport" developed for the PC. Accurate representations of the airplanes that compete in the National Championship Air Races held ever year in Reno, Nevada, together with realistic 3D terrain graphics combine to provide the ultimate high speed racing experience. Pilots will enjoy flying over 500 miles per hour in supercharged, nitrous burning aircraft generating over 3000 horsepower while racing around pylons only 50 feet off the ground.

Xtreme Air Racing's many features include extraordinary 3-D graphics with meticulous attention to aircraft detail and terrain; races in 5 different geographical locations ranging from the Reno desert to the Alps of Europe to the jungles of Thailand; over 20 tracks; 25 different single- and double-prop, single seat planes; multiplayer mode for up to 8 players; one of the most advanced flight physics engines with over 200 variables in the airframe; wake turbulence from other aircraft; air combat and stunt modes; extensive aircraft setup and modification; and much more.

Developed by Victory Simulations, creators of real flight simulators for the commercial aviation and defense industries, and endorsed by legendary aviator R.A. "Bob" Hoover, Xtreme Air Racing is the most realistic flight simulator available for the PC. "Even though Xtreme Air Racing has one of the most technically advanced flight models of any PC simulator," said Pat Hunt, President of Victory Simulations, "the difficulty settings can be adjusted so that gamers of any age or skill level will have fun playing. Until now, flight enthusiasts have had two options, straight flight simulators and air combat sims. Now they have a new opportunity to utilize their skills in a different way, in a close-contact, adrenaline-pumping racing game. Rather than simply hopping from airport to airport, they can take on other pilots in one of the most exhilarating forms of flying imaginable. And if you are into combat sims, there's also a dogfight mode to practice your aerial marksmanship."

Added Jerry Klein, President and CEO of eGames, "We are extremely excited about publishing Xtreme Air Racing. Not only is it a fresh, new experience for flight sim fans, but it has tremendous crossover potential. Racing sim fans who are tired of the constraints of gravity and racing in circles at a mere 200 mph have a whole new experience waiting for them."

Developed in conjunction with actual pilots who race in the Reno, Nevada Air Races, Xtreme Air Racing is as close as it gets to the real thing. Pilots helped with various aspects of the game, from getting the feel of the aircraft as they careen around the course exactly right, to the position of every hill and landmark of the authentic Reno course. As the ultimate testament to the game, the Reno pilots actually use Xtreme Air Racing as a training aid to practice emergency procedures that might arise during races that were previously impossible to prepare for. "I was surprisingly pleased at how accurate the flight handling qualities were, the flight model and landing characteristics felt about right, and the game was not only fun but was very realistic," said current Reno Unlimited Gold Champion, Skip Holm. "If you ever wanted to experience the thrill of air racing, this is the game for you. It doesn't get any better than this."

Xtreme Air Racing is scheduled to ship in September 2002, in time for this year's holiday season, and will have a suggested retail price of $29.99. The product will be published under the OuterBound Games brand, eGames' high-end gaming brand.
