Creative New Watches Follow The Sundial Principle For Time Telling
April 2005 - You could say it's a new watch whose "time has come". For more than three thousand years, the Sundial was the way people kept time. Now a Florida company called Zinom Watches is hoping to bring back that bit of history with a line of high-end wristwatches that use the Sundial principle in keeping time. In the Sundial principle, the big hand marks the hour and the smaller hands mark the minutes and seconds.
"This has never been done before but we think it is 'time'," says Zinom President, Eduardo Resende. "This watch follows the logic and simplicity of the Sundial principle. It's an easy, interesting way to read a match as well as being progressive and fashionable."
Zinom watches are equipped with a precision Swiss-made quartz movement set in a refined brass case. They are plated with multiple microns of 23K gold, stainless steel back and with a genuine leather band. Both Unisex Models Z-3 and Z-5 have a 33mm (1-1/4") diameter and are 6mm (1/4") thick. The Zinom watches sell for $250 and are available online: www.zinom.com
