Cordless Technology Provides Safest Alternative in Window Blinds and Shades

March 26-The CPSC recommends cordless blinds for use in homes with young children. These are the first cordless metal blinds and cellular shades in the industry, Levolor Cordless by Levolor and Kirsch provide the safest choice in window coverings.
In their most recent statement on the dangers of strangulation in horizontal window blinds, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and the Window Covering Safety Council recommend that consumers with young children consider cordless blinds. Cordless blinds and shades are safer for children and pets because the outer lift cords have been replaced by a spring motor system, eliminating strangulation hazards.

In an effort to give the consumer the safety of its patented cordless technology in a wider range of fashionable window covering choices, Levolor has additional products in development -- including cordless wood blinds and Roman shades. These products will be available nationwide at most major retailers of custom window covering products by the end of 2001.
