Compaq Introduces New Value-Priced Flat-Panel Displays

Compaq today announced immediate availability of two new value-priced flat-panel displays, the TFT 5004 and TFT 5005. Both models offer customers unprecedented flat-panel affordability while retaining the superior display quality and valuable features that users have come to expect in higher priced flat-panel displays.
Starting at $799, and available bundled with the iPAQ desktop, the carbon-colored TFT 5004 offers a crystal-clear 15" viewable screen image, XGA (1024 X 768) resolution, and 200-nit brightness all in a form factor that measures only 7" deep at the base.

The TFT 5005, available in both opal and carbon colors, features a 15" viewable image area, XGA resolution and includes an adjustable base that allows customers to tilt and swivel the flat-panel display to customize to their individual needs. It also provides a special one-touch auto adjust button that allows the users to quickly set the display panel to match their preferences. The TFT 5005 includes options, such as a swing-arm wall mount, touchscreen capability and a built-in speaker version, normally found only on higher priced flat-panel models.

iPAQ Desktop Upgraded
Compaq is also pleased to announce a technology upgrade to its award- winning iPAQ desktop. Available immediately, customers now have the option of an Intel Pentium III 733MHz processor with 133MHz Front Side Bus and a 10 GB hard drive when purchasing an iPAQ desktop. Pricing starts at only $849 for the 733 MHz legacy-free version. The new processor and hard drive are also available on the standard iPAQ desktop models. Other new options for the iPAQ desktop line include a Multibay CD-RW drive, 2X LS-120 drive and 8X DVD-ROM drive.
