Charming New Inn Opens in Santa Fe

June 20, 2002--The Old Santa Fe Inn, a charming new 43 room Inn- including 12 suites- nestled in the heart of historic Santa Fe has been opened by a fourth-generation New Mexico family who knows the meaning of hospitality, Santa Fe-style. The Old Santa Fe Inn is owned by the Laughlin Barker family, descendants of N.B. Laughlin, the territorial Judge of New Mexico in 1894. Laughlin Barker's mother Ruth Laughlin was the author of Caballeros and The Wind Leaves No Shadow. Today the Barker family is extensively involved in real estate ownership and management in Santa Fe.

The Old Santa Fe Inn captures that feeling of hospitality from a simpler time. A slower pace…a more peaceful time…a time when artists and writers were just discovering the charm of The City Different.

The Old Santa Fe Inn is located only five blocks southwest of the historic Santa Fe Plaza, only a pleasant stroll to the best of what Santa Fe has to offer, including more than seventy-five diverse and splendid restaurants, several museums, and scores of uncommon shops and galleries. Just a stone's throw away visit the famous Loretto Chapel with its miraculous staircase, the San Miguel Mission, the oldest church in the United States, and the Palace of the Governors, the oldest governmental building in the United States.
