CEIVA and Sprint Deliver a Living Window Into Your Mobile Life
Nov. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Sprint and CEIVA Logic have teamed to fully integrate Sprint PCS Picture Mail into the CEIVA Network, enabling Sprint PCS customers to send and receive digital images on their Sprint PCS Vision Phones, CEIVA Digital Photo Receivers, on-line Sprint Picture Mail albums and CEIVA on-line albums.
With a CEIVA Digital Photo Receiver, Sprint PCS customers can now frame and display their favorite camera phone images without printing by simply selecting the "send to CEIVA" option on any compatible Sprint PCS phone and sending the images directly to a CEIVA digital picture frame.
The integration makes it easy for members to instantly send one or multiple photos from their Sprint camera phones and Sprint Picture Mail accounts to display on any number of CEIVA Photo Receivers or send photos from the CEIVA member's albums directly to Sprint phones. A CEIVA Digital Photo Receiver is a full-color 8.2" LCD display in a matted picture frame that can receive and display up to 30 full-color pictures a day. The Digital Photo Receiver plugs into an ordinary phone line and automatically dials a local number free of charge each night to retrieve new photos sent to the CEIVA Network from a Sprint camera phone. Each morning, a personal slideshow of new photos is updated and displayed. The newest CEIVA 3 model is broadband ready to connect to home networks, and provides for instant updating of new Sprint camera phone photos to multiple Photo Receivers throughout the day.
"As camera phones become more popular and the quality of the images captured has improved, the demand for sharing and displaying these images has grown," said Pierre Barbeau, general manager of Picture Mail for Sprint. "Sprint continuously looks for new, cutting-edge ways to meet customer needs for using their camera phone images and the integration with CEIVA is just one way Sprint is doing that. We're making it easy for even low-tech consumers to use a high-tech solution to share and display photos."
"Camera phones have made capturing and sharing digital images easier than ever. Sprint and CEIVA are adding connected digital display to the experience," said Dean Schiller chief executive officer of CEIVA Logic Inc. "For our customers, the seamless integration of our services makes moving their pictures from phone to frame simple. Finally, seeing digital pictures in your home or office is as easy as it is to take them."
Consumers can purchase a CEIVA Digital Photo Receiver for $99.95 after a $30 mail-in rebate. A CEIVA PicturePlan service enables the Receiver to retrieve and display pictures starts at $6.95 per month. Consumers with a PicturePlan can invite others, including Sprint PCS customers, to send pictures to their Receiver.
