Canon Showcases Total Photo Solutions at Photo Plus Expo 2003
Oct. 30, 2003 – From demonstrations of Canon's groundbreaking new digital cameras, camcorders and phenomenal new photo printers to shooting tips and seminars from some of the world's most renowned photographers, this year's Photo Plus Expo at New York City's Jacob Javits Center promises to provide exciting and informative insights into the world of Canon imaging.
Among the hotly anticipated star attractions – debuting today at Booth 420 and continuing through November 1st – are Canon's new 6.3 megapixel EOS Digital Rebel SLR (which features interchangeable lenses, a large CMOS image sensor and a sub-$1,000 price tag); the popular 6.3 megapixel Canon EOS 10D digital SLR, and Canon's top-of-the-line professional 11.1 megapixel EOS-1Ds and 8 frame-per-second EOS-1D digital SLRs.
Also prominently featured are Canon's perennially popular PowerShot point and shoot digital cameras including the G5, S50, S400, SD100, SD10, A80, A70, A60 and A300. For the cinematically inclined, Canon's full line of Digital Video Camcorders – the XL-1s, GL2, Optura Xi, Optura 300, Optura 20, Elura 50, and ZR70MC – will be awaiting their "close-ups" from the new generation of movie makers.
Canon will also showcase the latest addition to its wide-format product line-up, the imagePROGRAF W8200 – offering 44" output with exhibit-grade resolution, speed and configuration advancements to serve the most extensive range of professional graphic needs.
"Visitors to Canon's booth at PhotoPlus Expo will be able to see the depth and breadth of Canon's imaging offerings and explore the vast selection of photo solutions we provide," states Yukiaki Hashimoto, senior vice president and general manager of the consumer imaging group at Canon U.S.A. "Regardless of format whether film or digital, still or video Canon offers the industry's most comprehensive selection of equipment, accessories and systems."
Shoot Digital. Print Direct.
Also featured is Canon's full line of photo printers including the compact, portable, battery-powered dye sublimation Card Photo Printer CP-300. Like the CP-200 – its conventionally powered sibling – the CP-300 turns out commercial quality 4 x 6 prints in about 85 seconds. Other new photo printers on display and demo at the Canon booth include i9100, the i960, the i900D, the i860 and the i70 Color Bubble Jet Printers.
As an added bonus, Rick Sammon, author of The Complete Guide to Digital Imaging as well as 21 other titles, will be on hand at the booth displaying a series of butterfly images shot with the EOS-1D and Canon EOS-1Ds cameras. The brilliantly colored Butterfly images will be featured in Sammon's next book Flying Flowers, to be published in 2005.
Canon is also host and sponsor of a series of eight special seminars conducted in various Javits Center conference rooms over the three days of Photo Plus 2003. Featured subjects and speakers include:
