Call for Entries to the Fourth Annual Polaroid Photography Awards

December 18, 2002-- Photographers are invited to submit their entries for the prestigious Fourth Polaroid International Photography Awards. This premier international competition showcases the creative, artistic, and commercial use of instant professional film and the work of talented professional photographers, assistants, and students worldwide.

Photographers should submit Polaroid images that best represent their true artistic, creative and innovative efforts at communicating visually. The contest is designed to highlight the extraordinary commercial appeal and artistic versatility of Polaroid instant films and offers a broad range of entry categories so that entrants from all disciplines have the opportunity for international recognition.

Work originated on Polaroid film will be judged in the following categories:

• Fine Art - Commissioned or non-commissioned work for exhibition, publication
• Commissioned - Work created for commercial use, including advertising, fashion, beauty, or editorial
• Personal Publicity - Work used for business, portfolio development, or personal exploration
• Assistants - Work of full-time employed assistants to professional photographers on any theme
• Students - Work of college/university photography students on any theme

WINNERS: Winners will be selected from the above five categories and from three worldwide regions (North and South America, Europe and Africa, and Asia/Pacific). One grand-prize winner will be chosen from the 15 regional winners.

PRIZES: The grand-prize winner will receive a free two-day session using the legendary, giant Polaroid 20x24 camera in New York or Prague (winner's choice), 30 free film exposures, plus three-nights hotel accommodations and travel expenses. The photographer's work also will be featured worldwide in the Polaroid international publication, P Magazine. Each of the remaining 14 regional winners will receive $1000 retail value of Polaroid product.
