Blue Canoe Yoga Apparel Flows into Spring '03

September, 2002 -- As yoga continues to blossom in the U.S., Blue Canoe, the country's premier manufacturer of organic cotton yoga and bodywear since 1993, plants the seed for spring '03 with apparel featuring inside bras, specialty neck lines and sexy cuts for the yoga studio and beyond.

Homegrown in Northern California's Humboldt County, Blue Canoe is a woman-owned business with a conscience, and is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. The products are made in the U.S. from handpicked certified organic cotton. Colored with low impact dyes, the apparel features flattering fits that are versatile and comfortable.

All pieces come in sizes S-XL. New items for spring '03 include:

• The Rio, with a wide boat neck and a low scoop back for a simple yet sexy look. A full cut in the bust area provides ample room, while contoured seams at the waist give the piece a shaped fit.



• The Tiffany has an elegant cut - perfect for before, during or after yoga. It features a neckband that tapers to a flattering bare shoulder cut with a bare back set off by two gradually widening straps, and an inside bra. "This piece has beautiful lines that accentuate the shoulders and back," said Dunlap.



• The Deep V Top has a relaxed fit that slightly tapers at the waist, with a mid-hip length cut. The summery piece is extremely soft, made from 100% organic cotton interlock, which Blue Canoe calls "cotton cashmere."



• The Classy Tank Top is a perfect basic tank by itself, or can be used as a layering piece. The flattering cut features a softly squared neckline, narrow straps and a full inside bra.



• The Yoga Flare provides a stylish flare capri with Blue Canoe's popular "V" fabric waistband. "These yoga pants are so happening," said Dunlap. "Whether it's yoga influencing streetwear, or the other way around, these pants reflect what's current."



• The Asana Short in a hip hugging style show off legs that are fit from yoga. Said Dunlap, "It's a cute short that appeals to the younger set, and can worn for other fitness activities as well."

Colors are gentle on the earth and include spring brights such as melon, plum, iris, periwinkle and scarlet, along with more earth/natural tones including sand, olive, black, ivory and undyed natural.
