BioKite Flies at 23rd National Veterans Wheelchair Games
BioKite, maker of the world's most technologically advanced kites, sponsored the 23rd National Veterans Wheelchair Games held in Long Beach, Calif. The kite company recently launched its business in the U.S. and hosted a 'Kite Fly' on Kid's Day at the 23rd NVW Games. BioKite presented the first of its new 'American Eagle' kites to athletes at the 23rd NVW Games on July 8 during the day's Track and Field events.
The new 'American Eagle' kite has a wingspan of more than six feet and replicates the look and swoop pattern of an eagle's flight when launched. All BioKites are technologically designed to enable wheelchair flyers to launch them from their chairs and have been very popular with disabled groups in Japan. The firm hopes to encourage the same kind of interest in the U.S.
"We're very happy to have BioKite join us as a sponsor to give our veteran athletes and visiting kids an opportunity to fly BioKites from their wheelchairs to see how great they work," said Gil Lafferty Hernandez, assisting the 23rd NVW Games from the host Veteran's Hospital in Long Beach.
