Big Is Better! Amana Launches The Big Oven

Big IS better when it comes to cooking capacity -- at least that's what consumers repeatedly told researchers from Amana Appliances -- and they listened. The result is Amana's newest cooking innovation, The Big Oven.

On the outside, The Big Oven is no larger than any other free-standing, 30-inch wide household range. But on the inside, where it counts, The Big Oven has the largest cooking capacity of any standard household range on the market -- an enormous 5.1 cubic feet.

Amana engineers used a combination of innovative design and high-tech insulation to achieve the feat, and extensive tests have shown that The Big Oven has both the size and cooking finesse it needs to make great-tasting food in a big way!

But size isn't all The Big Oven has to offer. It has a number of other great new features that put this exciting new oven in a class all by itself. Take The Big Oven's Precision Cooking System, for example. Whether using a model equipped with the smart DigiPad control or the electronic knob/slew combination, this system makes cooking easy and accurate.

Another convenient feature is The Big Oven's exclusive up-front simmer burner. Other ovens have the simmer burner in back, which creates the nuisance of reaching over boiling hot pots in front to stir sauce or other simmering items. On The Big Oven, the simmer burner is located up front instead, eliminating the problem.

Finally, the oven door features the largest oven viewing window available on a standard-sized range, so you can REALLY see what's cooking. The door is also specially counterbalanced so it will stay open in any position and won't snap shut. Plus, the hinges have been designed to operate smoother and quieter than older style hinges.

In addition to these great features, The Big Oven is easy to clean. From the concept stage to the final product, Amana put a lot of thought into this new oven's cleanability so consumers wouldn't have to. The oven top and backguard are all porcelain and the burners are sealed, so wiping up after cooking is quick and easy. The high-grade porcelain, self-cleaning oven cavity has also been designed to be easier to clean.

Two gas models of The Big Oven went on sale in October, and the remainder of the line -- including electric and convection-equipped models -- will be available early next year. Colors available are white, bisque and black. The manufacturer's suggested retail prices for the initial release models are $749 for Model ACF3335A and $899 for Model ACF3375A.
