Samsung Mobile Keeps Verizon Wireless Customers Connected with Network Extender

January 26, 2009--Samsung Mobile announced today the availability of the Verizon Wireless Network Extender by Samsung, a femotcell base station for home or home office. Network Extender is an easy to use, cost effective solution that works with any Verizon Wireless phone through a customer provided broadband Internet connection to improve indoor cellular coverage where location, geography or structural conditions interfere with reception.

“Network Extender is our solution for customers who are in need of enhanced coverage in their home or home office,” said Tom Jasny, vice president of wireless network systems and broadband, Samsung Telecommunications America. “It is compact, simple and convenient and takes just minutes to set up.”

Network Extender, which supports up to three simultaneous calls in an area of up to 5,000 square feet, offers a convenient, plug-and-play installation and works with any broadband Internet (xDSL, Cable Modem or FTTx), Ethernet connection and 110V power. With the Network Extender, users can:

  • Get improved cellular coverage in their home and home office.
  • Easily install the device using their existing broadband Internet service and a power outlet.
  • Take their call with them. Calls initiated on the Network Extender will transfer automatically and continue on the Verizon Wireless network when leaving the Network Extender coverage area.

Network Extender is currently available at www.verizonwireless.com/networkextender, by calling 800-256-4646, and at select Verizon Wireless Communications Stores.
