Avoca Introduces the VIP Music Edition with Groundbreaking Voice Control
September 3, 2008--Avoca Semiconductor Inc. (Avoca), a leading designer of voice-enabled user interface solutions, launches its new VIP Music Edition at the CEDIA Expo in Denver, Colorado. Avoca’s system is an extraordinary residential music control system designed for living rooms and fast, convenient, transparent use. It turns a CD collection into an immediately accessible digital library through a unique touch-and-talk interface that delivers the best system for easily operating and enjoying home music collections.
The VIP Music Edition consists of a VIP Music Player, a wireless VIP Music Companion (MC), and the Say it-Play it control interface. The Music Player plays CDs on a slot-loading CD Player, stores a copy in lossless digital format on its hard drive, and plugs into any audio system. Once a CD is in the Music Player, building a digital library becomes as easy as listening to the music.
The Music Companion is a wireless handheld controller equipped with Avoca’s Say it-Play it interface and a large, bright touchscreen. The screen provides portable browsing for its owner’s music library by genre, artist, album, or track. Users can control their audio environments by touch or voice, from anywhere in a home, without depending on a line of sight to the Avoca Music Player, or the TV, to see a music list. The interface responds to simple voice commands like “Play The Eagles,” “Set volume to 8,” and “Display by Artist” that make selecting music fast, convenient and fun, while avoiding the delays of traditional interfaces. Users can also attach nicknames to music items, making selection even more convenient.
The VIP Music Edition is available now at suggested prices starting at $3,990. It can be seen with Avoca’s other innovative products at Booth 1095, Denver Convention Center, during CEDIA. For more information, visit www.avocasemi.com.
