Alien Skin Software Announces Splat!

Splat!, a powerful new filter set for Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Fireworks,
ProCreate Painter, Deneba Canvas, Jasc Paint Shop Pro, and Corel PhotoPaint.
Easy-to-use and versatile, Splat! combines frames, textures, edges, borders,
mosaics, and more with the award-winning interface of Eye Candy 4000 in an
all new, affordable plug-in. Digital photographers, graphic designers, Web
designers, and digital artists can set their images apart using the stunning
effects of Splat!
Frame adds realistic mattes and frames to any photo or other rectangular
selection. Users browse through over 100 frames using a preview, then scale
the frame to fit, and apply. Frame includes traditional wood frames, Dover
and geometric borders, and realistic frames such as grommets and pushpins.
Resurface adds any of 100 high-resolution surface textures to any object, selection, or composition. Designers can distort an image to fit a surface. Resurface is an easy way to work in natural media; with a few clicks artists can apply textures such as paper, metal, stone, wood, and leather. Other surfaces included are brick, carpet, concrete, dirt, fur, and more. Fill Stamp fills any selection with familiar objects. Users can accent any composition by choosing from over 100 stamp libraries including leaves, buttons, coins, food, and flowers, then scaling the objects, and applying. Creating thematic backgrounds for print and Web has never been easier. Edges adds versatile, decorative edge effects to any graphic. Users can ornament invitations and greeting cards with a variety of edges such as halftone patterns, torn paper, and pixilated edges. Because these effects adapt to any selection, they also look great applied to text. Border Stamp applies the power of Fill Stamp to borders. Users can create themed borders from everyday objects such as pebbles, rose petals, seashells, candy, and more. Border Stamp works with any shape or selection. Patchwork recreates any selection, shape, or image as a mosaic. Users choose from tile libraries including ceramic tiles, cross-stitch, light pegs, and ASCII art. Users simply browse the libraries and then scale the tiles to fit. Splat! delivers these often-requested effects in the simple, easy-to-use interface that Alien Skin premiered with Eye Candy 4000. Users can tweak their effects in a huge preview that includes underlying layers, command menus, and keyboard shortcuts. Splat! offers the ability to switch between filters in the preview window and unlimited undo capability. In addition, Splat users can create their own frames, borders, and stamp libraries. Splat! is carbonized for OS X on the Macintosh and will be available for both Mac and Windows late in the first quarter of 2002. The estimated street price for Splat! will be $99.
