7th National Club Championship at Kiawah Island Golf Resort

October 2005 -- Kiawah Island Golf Resort will hold its 7th Annual National Club Championship March 12-16, 2006. Teams of three amateurs and one professional from across the U.S. will compete for bragging rights and prizes during this four-day, four-person best-ball team event.

As in previous years, participants will play one round each on The Ocean Course, (site of the 1991 Ryder Cup Matches, the 2007 Senior PGA Championship and the 2012 PGA Championship), Turtle Point, Osprey Point and Cougar Point. The entry fee also includes four nights' accommodations in a three-bedroom villa with daily housekeeping, daily breakfast on tournament days, an opening banquet at Mingo Point, daily scoring parties and an awards luncheon, as well as prizes and purses for the top net and gross teams. Professionals will also compete for a separate purse to be distributed among the top stroke-play finishers.

In addition, contestants arriving early can take advantage of reduced rates on practice rounds on all of the tournament courses including the world-famous Ocean Course.

"We anticipate another exciting tournament contested on four of the south's greatest resort courses," said Roger Warren, President of Kiawah Island Golf Resort. "This event is very popular with the field limited to 64 teams. We've sold out the last two years so we urge interested teams to sign up soon."

The entry deadline is February 1, 2006. The entry fee is $1,445 per amateur (upgrades to private homes or The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island available at an additional cost) and complimentary for PGA professionals (one per team).
