Best Stuff Announces Prize of a Lifetime
Playing Cascata is a golf experience unlike any other. The golf course and clubhouse occupy 400 acres on an 800-acre site in Boulder City, Nevada, in the foothills of the River Mountain Range. Soaring 3,200 feet above Las Vegas’ desert valley, this exclusive, par-72 golf course is draped dramatically across mountain slopes, providing stunning vistas at every turn, including the 3,600-foot peak at Red Mountain. Designed by master modern architect Rees Jones, Cascata’s lush fairways meander for 7,200 yards through the desert-mountain terrain amid stark natural beauty and unprecedented serenity. Delightful distractions include multiple waterfalls, resident bighorn sheep, and a magnificent Tuscan-themed clubhouse. Caesars Palace opened the property on Dec. 15, 2000, and since then, its player roster has included top Hollywood stars, renowned sports celebrities, members of royal families, heads of state, captains of industry and the company’s valued guests. At Cascata, the emphasis is on personal service. The winner and friend will be transported in a private Caesars Palace chauffeured limousine and will be greeted by a team of Cascata personnel, who welcome guests and assist with bags. An award-winning chef awaits players’ custom orders — including deliveries on the course. Two Cascata bartenders are in the National Bartending Hall of Fame. Players begin their day with a choice of beverages, from iced bottled water to classic cordials. A staff featuring Class A PGA professionals attend to equipment, fashion or instruction needs, players are accompanied on-course by a Tour-class caddie. Head professional is Brian Hawthorne, named in Golf Digest as one of the top teaching professionals in Nevada and host professional for a number of PGA and Senior PGA events. Rees Jones was so proud of his creation that he called Cascata “The eighth wonder of the golf world.” Confronted with a rugged, high-desert site with nearly 800 feet of elevation change, Jones stated, “We made our own soil, blasted rock, created streams—it was a phenomenal undertaking.” The result is a hauntingly memorable, yet exceedingly playable layout. Virtually every hole is an entity unto itself, thus allowing the golfer to focus on the task at hand, yet be practically enveloped by nature. Cascata is laced with 13 acres of lakes and streams, including a 417-foot waterfall framing the back of the practice facility. Water features are supplied by nearby Lake Mead, which was formed by the construction of Hoover Dam. More than 50,000 desert plants, each with its own efficient drip system, further beautify and define the holes. Among these plants are palm trees, poplar trees, yucca, Joshua trees, and a vast array of shrubs and wildflowers. The clubhouse at Cascata features a signature waterfall running through its center. The 37,000-square-foot building affords glorious views of its surrounds and boasts a full-service dining room and bar, a cigar room, banquet facilities, golf shop, and locker rooms. Kudos
