RadioShack New ZipZaps Models for 2003

Feb. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- RadioShack has announced that new shipments of the wildly popular ZipZaps micro RC (radio control) cars are currently available in stores nationwide. Two new models, including a champagne-colored Honda Civic and black Ford SVT Mustang Cobra, are on the shelves, with at least a dozen new ZipZaps and accessories expected throughout the year. The toy retailer also announced that to make room for the 2003 line-up of ZipZaps, select models from the original line of ZipZaps Starter Kits and car top accessories would no longer be offered after inventory sells out.

"This is the last opportunity to collect the inaugural series of ZipZaps designs before these original models are gone," said Don Carroll, senior vice president and general manager, Connecting Things, RadioShack. ZipZaps are the premiere line of micro RCs that took the 2002 holiday season by surprise with rave reviews from the media and consumers lining up at stores upon shipment arrivals. The zippy racers have realistic body styles, charge in less than a minute and move with great precision, speed and dexterity. Each ZipZaps Starter Kit features a trading card and for the serious collectors, a ZipZaps Trading Card Collector Book that can hold up to 40 trading cards is also available.

The inaugural line of ZipZaps Starter Kits that will be discontinued includes the Ford SVT Mustang Cobra, Porsche 911 Turbo, Honda Civic and Chrysler PT Cruiser body tops in a variety of colors. Accessories including the Pit Kit Carrying Case, the Grand Prix Race Track Barrier Wall Kit, the Performance Booster Upgrade Kit, the Custom Tire and Hubcap Upgrade Kit and The Fast and the Furious Street Tuner Upgrade Kit will remain available at RadioShack stores across the country.
