LeapFrog's Quantum Leap Products Hit Store Shelves
Aug. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- LeapFrog Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE:LF), a leading developer of innovative technology-based educational products, today announces retail availability of the 2002 Quantum Leap line of learning products developed specifically for grade and middle school age children. New products in this year's lineup include the Quantum Pad learning system and Turbo Twist handheld BRAIN QUEST edition product. For the first time, content for the iQuest interactive talking handheld is available for fifth graders; and pre-loaded iQuest curriculum cartridges for grades five through eight are now available at retail.
As with all Quantum Leap educational products, the new additions are designed to continually engage and challenge students with customized content that adjusts and grows with them.
The products align with national curriculum to match what students are learning in the classroom in math, spelling, vocabulary, science, social studies, history, and geography.
"We've added some exciting new products to our back-to-school line-up this year based on feedback from teachers, parents and students regarding the learning challenges kids face in elementary and middle school," says Mike Wood, LeapFrog's founder, president and chief executive officer. "The new Quantum Leap products build on the success of our existing line by providing effective learning experiences that are designed to help students master classroom subjects. Equally important is the fun, interactive format, which fosters an enthusiasm for learning that paves the way for success in school."
LeapFrog's newest Quantum Leap products endeavor to turn studying from routine to riveting:
New for iQuest Interactive Talking Handheld Users
The iQuest interactive talking handheld is a revolutionary way for sixth, seventh and eighth graders to study for tests in math, science and social studies. Just in time for back-to-school, this year iQuest extends its content to include grade-specific lessons for fifth graders! This ultimate learning tool delivers class curriculum through fun audio quizzes tied to textbook material that help make studying more effective and enjoyable. The iQuest handheld also includes a calendar, address book, calculator, note pad and Merriam-Webster Dictionary to help students stay organized. Also new for back to school: iQuest cartridges are now available at retail, preloaded with quizzes based upon actual math, science, or social studies textbooks that fifth through eighth grade students use in school (some publishers not supported).
Quantum Pad Learning System
The Quantum Pad learning system harnesses the power of NearTouch technology to spark students' enthusiasm for mastering school subjects while encouraging them to learn at their own pace. Fun stories, games and activities make learning fundamental subjects, such as math, science and social studies, enjoyable. Books in the Quantum Pad FUN-damentals Series teach core skills specific to third, fourth, and fifth grades, such as math, science, reading, language arts, and social studies. The Above & Beyond Series lets students explore fascinating topics. And for improving reading fluency and comprehension, the Great Reader Series helps children build skills through popular titles such as the Magic Tree House.
Turbo Twist Line
Turbo Twist learning products are a fun, fast-paced way to challenge children in spelling, math, vocabulary, social studies, English and science. New to the lineup in time for the start of school, Turbo Twist handheld BRAIN QUEST edition, incorporates all new questions from the popular BRAIN QUEST game into challenging, fast-paced interactive activities that are designed to help students master important social studies, English and science facts. Turbo Twist products continually adjust and adapt to children's current skill and ability, then challenge them to master the next level of learning. Also new for the back-to-school season: Turbo Twist cartridges containing additional content based on grade-specific standards are now available at retail.
In addition to retail cartridges, grade-specific content for the Turbo Twist and iQuest products can also be downloaded from LeapFrog's Web site (http://www.leapfrog.com/) through the Never-Ending Learning Club and Mind Station connector device.
