GapKids and Wild Planet Introduce Jacket with Gadget Gloves
Jan. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Wild Planet and GapKids, announced today the debut of an exciting new jacket that incorporates adventure and exploration into apparel for kids. This new clothing/toy combination features Wild Planet's Kid-Invented Explorer's Gloves attached to a GapKids windbreaker for boys. The water-resistant jackets with multi-gadget gloves are available beginning January 26 at all GapKids stores throughout the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan and France, as well as through www.gap.com.
The jacket featuring Explorer's Gloves was designed by GapKids and comes with gear gloves that were invented by a 10-year-old boy through Wild Planet's annual Kid Inventor Challenge contest. Nathan Tung, the young creator who came up with the idea for the Explorer's Gloves, will receive royalty checks from Wild Planet for each set of gloves sold to GapKids. His name will be highlighted in the front, center and window displays at all GapKids stores.
"I invented the Explorer's Gloves because I enjoy playing with gadgets and wanted one easy way to carry them all," explained Nathan. The gloves come with six handy tools: signal lights, magnifying lens, watch, compass, grip clips and gear loops. With their exploration gear secured to their gloves, kids can keep their hands free for climbing and collecting. The brightly colored gloves come attached to a light-weight, jersey-lined zip-up jacket, which is available in green camo or gray camo in kids sizes XS - XXL. The jacket with gloves sells for $49.50.
Though Wild Planet manufactures several kid-invented toys, the Explorer's Gloves are the first kid-created item the company is offering through an exclusive retail partnership and the first kid-invented product to be sold at GapKids stores.
