Front Porch Classics Delivers Authentic Fun for All AgesFeb. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- 2004 American International Toy Fair Booth #5227 -- Front Porch Classics, maker of high-quality coffee table games, has expanded its Old Century Classics line of games with the release of new products for 2004. Leading the 2004 collection is Stretch Run, a tabletop game meant to evoke the golden age of horse racing while connecting friends and family through play. Additional products introduced at the 2004 American International Toy Fair include Old Century Bull in a China Shop and Old Century Fish Bait. These introductions to the collection will build upon the achievements of Front Porch Classics' previous games, including back-to-back "Toy of the Year" awards from FamilyFun magazine and a strategic media partnership with Twentieth Century Fox to create "Master and Commander," the official game of the Academy Award-nominated film. Front Porch Classics' continued success reinforces the idea that in a high-tech digital world, batteries aren't necessary to ensure fun for the whole family. Front Porch Classics continues to redefine the art of the game with Stretch Run, a classic gaming experience filled with adventure for the whole family. Stretch Run is a horseracing-inspired game that brings the spirit of the racetrack into the living room. The attractive wooden case unfolds to become the racetrack and players race their cast metal markers, a jockey atop his steed, around the track by throwing the die or playing a card. "Stretch Run combines the thrill of thoroughbred horseracing with an exciting game of chance and strategy," said Steve Edmiston, president and co- founder, Front Porch Classics. "As with all of our high-quality games, Stretch Run is completely unique to the industry and offers a rich combination of storytelling, strategy and authentic fun that allows families to create wonderful memory-making experiences." Also new for 2004 and debuting at Toy Fair are: Old Century Bull in a China Shop, a version modeled after the traditional game of skittles that will challenge your reflexes, and Old Century Fish Bait, an attractive accent for the coffee table that allows any fishing enthusiast to enjoy fishing without leaving home. Stretch Run will be available in June, just in time for Father's Day, while Bull in a China Shop and Fish Bait will be shipping in mid May. These titles join the currently available Old Century Baseball, Old Century Dread Pirate and Old Century Games of the World. Old Century Baseball, a retro pinball-style game, was the first established product in the coffee table game category and won a 2002 "Toy of the Year" (T.O.Y.) award from Disney-owned FamilyFun magazine. The company's second introduction, a pirate treasure adventure game called Old Century Dread Pirate, earned Front Porch Classics a second T.O.Y. award in 2003. Old Century Games of the World is uniquely packaged in a single, aged tin, and takes players back in time to play seven of the most culturally significant games ever conceived by man, including Go, Chaturanga, Pachisi, Chess, Dudo, Wari, and Quirkat.
