Two German Engineers Want to Sell their Electric Bike Globally!

 Elmoto

The Elmoto is a cross between a mountain bike and a motorcycle. It is powered by a 2KW engine that should last you up to 65km on a single battery charge. The aluminum frame only weighs 45kg, which should allow you to travel at a top speed of almost 45km/h.

Technically, the Elmoto is a "green" vehicle, because it doesn't emit any carbon dioxide. The developers are hoping to sell around 100 bikes before the end of this year. Then, they hope to increase their marketing and go global, to make 2010 a big year for sales.

The Elmoto costs $5,700 and is currently only available in Europe. So, would you buy something like this to help save on gas, or too be more "Green"?

Monster Goes Green, Helps You Save Money

 Monster GreenPower HDP 900G

Monster just announced that they have two new PowerCenters available that help you conserve energy. Their GreenPower products for home theater systems automatically turn off your home theater components when they're not being used. Pricing is not too bad either…the HDP 850G is $99 and the HDP 900G is $129. In time, the cost of these products could be made up in savings on your electric bill.

The new products work by eliminating "vampire load" energy waste in connected systems. Simply plug your HDTV into the main "Green Power Control Outlet" which then controls three other outlets so you can connect additional components (DVD player, A/V receiver, etc.) When the main device is turned off, the other GreenPower outlets automatically switch off, saving you energy. When the TV is turned back on, the GreenPower outlets automatically power up the other devices again.

And get this…Monster stands behind their products…both new PowerCenters come with $300,000 Connected Equipment Warranties.

PowerCost Monitor from Blue Line Innovations

Earth Day is about more than conserving the world's precious and declining resources. It's also about preserving resources in the home office or small business -- which, in turn, can help conserve the world's precious and declining resources.

It's not enough just to turn off lights and wear light clothes in summer and slippers in winter. You need to do more than close your window blinds to better insulate the home office (and home), or turn off fans when you're NOT in a room.

By buying and using simple tech devices, you can save resources for the long-term. Amid the current economic recession and flourishing energy conservation movement, home and business owners and lessees alike are looking to cut costs and conserve power. At www.ChiefHomeOfficer.com, we practice responsible home officing year-round. It's smart, and helps me look my kids in the eyes when I consider our shared future.

"One of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to save is through technology," notes Paul Holstein, COO of CableOrganizer.com – an online storefront offering a wide selection of energy management solutions.

Blue Earth: Samsung’s Solar Powered Phone

 Blue Earth

At Mobile World Congress 2009, Samsung is unveling Blue Earth, a solar powered touch screen phone. The solar panel is located on the back of the phone to generate enough power to stay in touch with your friends, family or business associates anytime, anywhere. You won’t be able to use the excuse “my cell phone was dead” with this little gem.

Blue Earth is an eco-friendly green as it is made out of a of a material called PCM, a plastic from recycled water bottles. The phone (charger included) is also free from harmful substances such as Brominated Flame Retardants, Beryllium and Phthalate.

Blue Earth gives you an easy way to be energy efficient with its ‘Eco mode’. With just one click you can set the screen brightness, backlight duration and Bluetooth to an energy-efficient mode. It also has an ‘eco walk’ function where you can count your steps with a in-built pedometer, and it even calculates how many trees you are saving by walking instead of driving your car. Seriously.

No pricing information is out yet, but plan on it not coming out until the second half of 2009, and to the UK first.
