Square Enix and Sprint to Offer Mobile Games to Vision Subscribers

May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Square Enix and Sprint today announced a partnership to offer Square Enix's mobile games content to Sprint PCS Vision subscribers.

Best known for popular and critically acclaimed console and online games, Square Enix is a leading wireless content provider in Japan with over 70 titles currently released in the market. Square Enix is committed to leveraging their success in Japan to bring new and exciting branded content and wireless games to the rapidly growing US mobile entertainment market. In March 2004, Square Enix acquired UIEvolution, an industry-leading provider of wireless software technology, to accelerate the development and deployment of rich content for mobile phones. The technology will allow Square Enix to deliver a high quality user experience that will entertain the broadest number of Sprint Vision subscribers with new compelling content services.

"With Games from PCS Vision, we ensure our customers never have a dull moment, as long as they have their mobile phone with them," said Jeff Hallock, vice president of consumer product marketing for Sprint. "This partnership with Square Enix will further deliver on our promise to entertain customers by offering a wide variety of well-known titles."

"We are excited to be working with Sprint, a pioneering leader in the mobile entertainment and gaming market," said Yoichi Wada, president, Square Enix Co., Ltd. "Through our partnership, Square Enix will deliver exciting new entertainment content to Sprint PCS Vision subscribers nationwide."

Details on Square Enix's offerings for Sprint PCS Vision will be announced at a later date.
