NVIDIA Showcases Graphics Technology at E3
MAY 17, 2005--E3 2005 promises to be another exciting show for the interactive entertainment industry and there is no better place to play the hottest titles, see the latest industry developments and trends, or experience next-generation technology than at the NVIDIA booth. At E3, NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA), a worldwide leader in graphics and digital media processors, will be showing:
- Revolutionary NVIDIA SLI technology and GeForce 6 Series of graphics processing units (GPUs)
- Leading-edge handheld graphics technology, such as the graphics chip powering the new Gizmondo mobile game console
- Over 40 of the hottest PC gaming titles
NVIDIA technology will be on display in booth 346, South Hall at E3, being held at the Los Angeles Convention Center May 18 - 20.
“With thousands of products on display, it is clear that E3 is the place to be for gaming innovation and creativity,” said Dan Vivoli, executive vice president of worldwide marketing at NVIDIA. “Gamers are excited about NVIDIA technologies, such as the GeForce 6-series of GPUs, NVIDIA nForce4 core-logic solutions, and our SLI multi-GPU technology and it is easy to see why when you look at all of the hot titles developed on our hardware.”
NVIDIA Partner Demonstrations
A key component of the NVIDIA booth is the NVIDIA Showcase Stage, where hot new games will be presented by their creators. Showcase Stage highlights include:
- Appearances by superstar game developer Bruce Shelley presenting Age of Empires III
- Appearances by Tim Shafer, creator of many award-winning games including Grim Fandango and Full Throttle, presenting his new title Psychonauts
- Appearance by Richard Dean Anderson (of TV’s MacGyver) to promote the upcoming Stargate SC-1 game
- A sneak peek of Timeshift from Atari
- A demonstration of Unreal Engine 3 from Epic Games
The NVIDIA booth at E3 will provide conference attendees with a first-hand look at over 40 of the latest games taking advantage of NVIDIA GeForce 6 Series GPUs, including Battlefield 2, Bet on Soldier, Boiling Point, City of Villains, Fable: The Lost Chapters, Hellgate: London, LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game, Pyschonauts, RoboBlitz, Starship Troopers, The Matrix: Path of Neo, The Sims 2: Nightlife, Serious Sam II, Trackmania: Sunrise, You are Empty, and many more.
Additionally, NVIDIA and Intel have joined forces to bring attendees the ultimate SLI Gaming “Rig”, a 30-foot RV with a custom paint scheme that you won't be able to miss --and decked out inside with the latest in computer gaming technology. NVIDIA nForce 4 SLI for Intel-based PCs running a pair of GeForce 6800 GPUs and dual-core Intel Pentium Extreme Edition processors will be on board to demo the latest games as the “Rig” makes it's way from E3 (parked between the South and West Halls during show hours) to a number of E3-related events in the evening.
NVIDIA technologies on display at E3 include:
- NVIDIA GoForce 3D wireless media processors (WMP), the first 3D core with programmable shader technology for handheld devices;
- NVIDIA GeForce 6 Series of GPUs, the latest-generation of the Company’s flagship product line of award-winning GPUs for desktop and notebook PCs;
- NVIDIA TurboCache technology, a new patent-pending hardware and software technology which allows a GPU to render directly to system memory leveraging the high transfer rate of PCI Express, instead of using local memory on the graphics card;
- NVIDIA SLI technology, which allows users to combine the power of two graphics processing units (GPUs) in a single PC system for scalable graphics performance, enabling a new class of PCs called Gaming Supercomputers;
