Cellboost for Sony PSP Unveiled at E3

May 18, 2005 – Bam and his team are quickly gaining ground. Tony is counting on you to keep the team in the lead and you’re just about to shove off from an airborne wall plant when the battery light on your Sony PSP starts flashing. What do you do? Today, at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2005, Compact Power Systems, LLC. (CPS), makers of Cellboost portable power solutions, unveiled the innovative Cellboost for Sony PSP, extending the playtime of Tony Hawk’s Underground 2 Remix (or any other game) by two hours. The new accessory provides handheld gamers the ability to continue playing when batteries die and recharging is not an option.

“When the Sony PSP hit the market the face of handheld gaming changed. But the result of this advanced technology is a considerable draw on the device’s limited battery power,” said Kai Clarke, president of CPS. “Cellboost enhances the gaming experience on two fronts: by providing an additional two hours of playing time, and by offering a Cellboost design that becomes a natural extension of the PSP.”

The Cellboost model features a sleek design, fitting seamlessly into the standard AC charger port of the PSP and allowing gamers a better grip while restoring power to the dead or dying device within seconds, without using electrical outlets, battery changes or cords. The Cellboost unit simultaneously powers and charges the device; can be used in one charging session or several; and can be thrown away when the power is exhausted. Featuring the same patented technology as the company’s popular Cellboost product for the leading cell phone brands, the Cellboost for Sony PSP offers an instant and inexpensive battery power for today’s gamers.

CPS has also launched the Cellboost for Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP and DS systems. The model provides six hours of additional playing time and is available to see at the Cellboost exhibit inside the Dream Gear booth, #2140 in the West Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center.

“E3 is the perfect place to reach the trendsetters in the gaming world,” said Clarke. “The Cellboosts for the Sony PSP and Nintendo Game Boy Advance DS and SP systems are welcome accessories to the handheld gaming marketplace.”
