ViewSonic today announced a new palm-sized media player, the VPD400 MovieBook. It features a 4.3-inch high-resolution screen, 8GB of internal memory, an extendable Micro SD storage slot and features a battery life of up to 12 hours of audio and up to six hours of video.

The VPD400 MovieBook plays HD movies and video (with optional subtitles), as well as lets you share photo albums, read digital books, record voice memos, and of course, listen to music. It supports the following video and audio formats: AVI, MKV, FLV, MPG, MOV, MPG, VOB, RM/RMVB and H.264 for video and MP3, WMA, WAV, FLAC and DTS/AC3 for audio.

ViewSonic's VMP70 Media Player Does 1080p for Less Than $100

ViewSonic this week announced the new VMP70 media player box, a new device that makes viewing Full HD 1080p multimedia easy. Simply insert a USB or external hard drive into the player and watch HD movies and TV shows on your television. You can view photos and listen to music as well. It also includes an S/PDIF port for surround sound connectivity, HDMI cable and a remote control. Sound expensive? It's not. It is available now for under $100.

The VMP70 weighs less than one pound and supports more video and audio formats than any media player available today, including MPEG1/2/4, Divx/Xvid, MKV, H.264, VC-1, WMV9, RM/RMVB, DTS, Dolby Digital, WMA, MP3, FLAC, OGG and MKA to name a few. Zune HD Now Available For Pre-order

Microsoft announced this week that the Zune HD media player is now available for pre-order and will be in stores on September 15th.

The new media player includes multi-touch navigation, 16:9 OLED display, integrated HD Radio receiver, HD video output capabilities, built-in Wi-Fi and web browser, as well as a touchscreen QWERTY keyboard.

The Zune HD will be available in 16GB and 32GB. Pre-orders are available now at Amazon.com, Best Buy, Walmart, and Microsoft. The 16GB will sell for $219.99, the 32GB, $289.99.
