Siemens, AT&T Wireless Announce Availability of Two New Mobile Phones

CTIA Wireless 2003, March 17 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T Wireless and Siemens Information and Communication Mobile today announced the availability of the C56 mobile phone starting this month and the S56 mobile phone beginning in Q2 2003. The new phones allow users to demonstrate their individuality via numerous personalization options and bring fun, entertaining applications as well as practical features to mobile communication.

The C56 and S56 are dual band 850/1900 MHz Global System for Mobile communications (GSM) General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) phones. Both feature polyphonic sound capabilities that deliver truly lifelike sound to ring tones. Consumers can use the phones' voice-dialing feature to make calls and can use the speakerphone feature to have hands-free conversations. The phones also feature wireless Java technology that gives customers access to a growing number of business applications and fun games, and a Wireless Access Protocol (WAP) 1.2.1 browser that provides fast access to the Internet.

C56 Highlights
The small, lightweight C56 phone supports Enhanced Messaging Service (EMS) technology, allowing users to add pre-installed sounds, pictures and video to their text messages. The C56 mobile phone gives subscribers a fun way to personalize their mobile communication with interchangeable color CLIPit covers and screen savers. The covers come in a variety of colors, including Bahama Blue, Sedona Sunset, and a special Iced Sapphire cover that features glow-in-the-dark plastics, making it a fun, attractive way to enhance a user's nighttime mobile phone experience. The C56 mobile phone features GPRS Class 8 technology for high-speed wireless data access and provides up to 150 hours of standby time and up to five hours of talk time.

S56 Highlights
The slender, attractive S56 phone supports Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS), which expands text-messaging capabilities with pictures, video, graphics and sound. The S56 mobile phone features a 256-color display and integrated Bluetooth technology for short-range wireless communication or data synchronization with Bluetooth-enabled PCs, printers, PDAs and other devices such as the Siemens Bluetooth Headset. An optional clip-on Mobile Camera with integrated flash helps users capture life's situations and emotions, day or night, and email or send them via MMS to friends and family. The S56 features GPRS Class 10 technology to enable fast downloads and provides up to 250 hours of standby time and up to five hours of talk time.
