HP to Highlight Key Pillars of Mobile Lifestyle at CTIA Wireless 2003
March 13, 2003 -- HP plans to showcase a comprehensive portfolio of products and services enabling the emerging mobile lifestyle at the CTIA Wireless 2003 tradeshow next week.
At the show, HP will leverage its proven mobility leadership and deliver
news crossing several mobility segments:
- Wi-Fi/Hotspots: An update on the initiative by HP, Starbucks and T-Mobile to deliver high-speed data services in hotspots; separately, there will be a demonstration of hotspot roaming.
- Network infrastructure: New solutions for mobile voice and data services.
- Personal systems: New wireless capabilities for HP devices such as notebook, Tablet and Pocket PCs and new arrangements with mobile operators to enable customers with HP devices to access multiple CDMA and GPRS networks.
- Printing: New software technologies for the development of wireless printing applications within the Microsoft® .NET framework.

HP Spotlights Mobile Solutions at CTIA Wireless 2003
During the show, HP and its partners plan to demonstrate a wide array of
solutions at the HP booth 4945 located in Hall F.
Network:
- Operations and Business Support Systems: convergent mediation/charging; convergent pre- and post-paid billing; business continuity billing; integrated OSS for service providers; service provisioning and service level management; integrated service management; and Zero Latency Enterprise (ZLE) technology
- Network elements: HP OpenCall Home Location Register; emerging network services (SIP, Parlay, Voice over Packet); interactive voice services; push-to-talk technologies; commercial location-based services
- Rich-media: interactive production and distribution of rich media; mobile streaming media
- Mobility: HP Mobile Service Delivery Platform; multimedia messaging (MMS) and advanced messaging services; integration of hotspots into GPRS networks and hotspot roaming
- Enterprise: mobile access to enterprise data and applications via the HP Wireless Enterprise Framework; roaming between LANs, wireless LANs and public networks via HP Open Roaming.
- Access: HP wireless notebook PCs, iPAQ Pocket PCs, Tablet PCs.
- Printing: HP wireless printing from end-user access devices. Also, HP will provide demonstrations of new mobile printing solutions at the Microsoft Mobility Developers Conference located in Hall J, HP booth 403.
HP also plans to demonstrate many of these products at MobileFocus, an event for the news media on Sunday night at 7 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency located at 500 Poydras Plaza in New Orleans.
