Audiovox Unveils Budget Conscious CDM-8615 Phone
October 27, 2004 – Complete with an array of the most popular phone features and functions, the new CDM-8615 mobile handset from Audiovox Communications Corporation (ACC), a subsidiary of Audiovox Corporation (NASDAQ: VOXX), was unveiled today at CTIA Wireless I.T. and Entertainment 2004. The CDM-8615 is a clamshell-styled, dual-LCD handset geared toward the consumer who wants a compact, fashionable, yet affordable phone – without a built-in digital camera.
The tri-mode (800/1900 MHz CDMA, Amps) phone is CDMA20001X capable, Java enabled and comes equipped with Wap 2.0 web browser. The handset features a 1.8” main LCD screen in 65K color CSTN and a 1” black and white exterior display for viewing incoming call and message alerts and digital or analog clock functions. The CDM-8615 features a built-in, two-way speakerphone, two-way SMS and CMX 32 polyphonic ringers as well as a vibrating alert option.
The CDM-8615 measures 3.5” x 1.8” and 0.9”, weighs only 3.7 ounces and is equipped with the MSM6050 chipset, which is GPS ready, system dependent.
