Watch and Record TV On Your Computer and Save Video Files

Aug. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- InterVideo, Inc. today announced that WinDVR 2, the newest version of its digital VCR for computers is now available for purchase on the InterVideo web site. WinDVR 2 lets users record TV shows to their PC's hard drive for future viewing and automatically compresses programs into MPEG-2 video files (the same technology as DVDs) or MPEG-1 (near VHS quality video) to save valuable hard drive space. WinDVR 2 also provides for VCD, SVCD and DVD compatible file outputs which can be used by video authoring tools, such as InterVideo's WinProducer 3, to edit and burn personalized DVDs and VCDs discs. All WinDVR-recorded files can be played back with InterVideo's WinDVD, Microsoft's Windows Media Player and other popular MPEG video playback products.

"WinDVR is designed for anyone who loves TV, but can't always fit life into the broadcasting schedule," said Steve Ro, CEO and co-founder of InterVideo. "With WinDVR 2 you can save TV shows as DVD and VCD files, automatically record your favorite programs with one click and even watch TV while you work. WinDVR makes TV fit around your schedule."

WinDVR 2 also offers the ability to pause live TV, called Time-Shifting. The Time-Shifting feature allows you to pause live TV, for any reason, and then resume watching later -- all without missing a moment of the program. Other new WinDVR 2 features include: Pan & Zoom, Video Desktop, the elimination of the 4GB file size limit, advanced deinterlacing and noise reduction, a Sleep Timer and unified audio controls for the different audio specifications in the US, Japan and Europe -- all designed to make watching TV on a computer as convenient as possible.

Recording TV shows is a snap with WinDVR 2's integrated EPG (Electronic Programming Guide) called http://www.TitanTV.com. Once a user visits http://www.TitanTV.com, he or she can click to find the TV shows available at their street address and automatically schedule InterVideo's WinDVR 2 to record any listed TV show - without manually keying in program information.
