Transform Your PC Into A High Fidelity Digital Media Center

Nov. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Consumers can digitally connect their computers to their home stereo systems for exceptional sound using the new Pro HiFi-Link, Xitel Pty Ltd., announced today. DVD surround sound, Internet radio, streaming audio and MP3s can now be digitally played from a PC to a home receiver, amplifier, or portable boombox for music that sounds more alive, vibrant and natural.

The Pro HiFi-Link's unique plug 'n' play interface transforms the PC into a high quality digital media center, allowing users to radically improve their existing audio performance in a few simple steps. Its superior rendering technology digitally processes audio directly from the computer's USB into an optimum signal perfectly matched with the coaxial, optical or RCA inputs of a stereo system. By totally bypassing the computer's soundcard, the Pro HiFi-Link sophisticated hardware engine ensures the same level of performance typically associated with premium audio components. Its versatile architecture even allows users to play DVDs on their computer and send Dolby Digital or DTS Digital Surround Sound to 5.1 channel receivers via distortion free coaxial or optical digital cable for the most amazing home theater experience.

"Not only can we offer our customers dramatically enhanced audio performance for their MP3s, streaming audio and other music files, but they can now output true 5.1 DVD surround sound from their computer," said Barrie Davis, Managing Director of Xitel. "For nearly 53 million people in the USA using a PC for audio, the Pro HiFi-Link is an incredibly simple, yet highly effective way of converting their computer into an integral part of their home entertainment system and getting the most out of their digital music."

Compatibility, Simplicity, Flexibility
The Pro HiFi-Link runs with all Windows compatible media players, including Windows Media Player, Winamp, RealAudio Player, Liquid Audio Player, and MusicMatch Jukebox. It installs via the USB quickly and easily using the generic USB drivers in Windows 98SE, 2000, ME and XP for true plug'n'play simplicity. Being a totally external device, the Pro HiFi-Link is also fully isolated from the harmful electromagnetic radiation often emitted inside a PC, enabling it to produce an optimum signal free from interference.

The Pro HiFi-Link comes with all necessary interconnection cables, including 30 feet of optical digital cable, 30 feet of coaxial digital cable, and 30 feet of fully shielded studio grade RCA cable with gold plated connectors. In addition to the high quality cables, Xitel has included CyberLink's highly regarded PowerDVD software in the box.
