Panasonic Launches New Semi-Rugged Toughbook Notebook PCs
November 16, 2005 -- Panasonic Computer Solutions Company today announced the introduction of two new ultra-thin and light semi-rugged notebook computers.
Now available for purchase, the Panasonic Toughbook T4 and Toughbook W4 models are the next generation of thin and light laptop computers designed to meet the needs of mobile workers. The new models both come standard with a magnesium alloy case, shock mounted hard drive, integrated wireless LAN, removable hard drive, 12.1 inch anti-glare LCD, wireless on-off switch, and docking connection.
Unique to the Toughbook T4 model is its increased battery capability, delivering more than nine and a half hours of battery life while weighing in at only 3.3 pounds. The T4 also features a sleek compact design with ergonomic hand strap and includes a touch-screen LCD. Utilizing the included image rotation software makes the T4 ideal for use while on the move, appealing to a wide range of industries, including mobile healthcare and aviation professionals.
The W4, which features a traditional 12.1 inch, anti-glare LCD, weighs in at just 2.8 pounds, even with its integrated DVD/CD-RW combo drive. With a battery life of more than 6 hours, the W4 was built for mobile executives and active sales teams. It's equally useful in the conference room or on an airline tray table.
"Wireless mobility is now mainstream and mobile workers require durability, the highest degree of reliability and advanced functionality to effectively do their jobs," said Rance Poehler, president, Panasonic Computer Solutions Company. "We're pleased to introduce our T4 and W4, the thinnest, lightest additions to the most reliable line of notebooks available. As a core manufacturer, we are uniquely positioned to deliver solutions and services that set the standard for quality. As a result, our customers benefit from the lowest failure rates in the industry."
In addition to its comprehensive rugged and semi-rugged line, Panasonic also offers a full range of professional services and provides industry leading service and support to maximize active use of every Toughbook.
The W4 and T4 provide durable lightweight solutions that enable mobile workers to stay productive longer with the added confidence that they can withstand the inevitable wear and tear of travel. According to the 2004 Business & Convention Travelers Report, 92 percent of business travelers own a personal computer and 65 percent of business travelers bring their laptops on flights.
