New Dell Dimension Desktop
Dell's new Dimension 8300 is
a desktop equipped with high-performance technology to help consumers and
small business owners run demanding multimedia applications, such as editing
video or high-resolution photographs, creating Web content or playing 3-D
games.
The Dimension 8300 uses a new Intel chipset that supports processors featuring an 800MHz front side bus and dual-channel DDR (double data rate) memory to enhance the system's overall performance. It also features an 8x Accelerated Graphics Port (AGP) graphics cards to run demanding 3-D applications.
Gamers who want fast performance can opt for the ATI Radeon 9800 PRO or the Radeon 9800 graphics card. Customers who do not require as much 3-D horsepower can opt for the NVIDIA GeForceT 4 MX graphics card.
The Dimension 8300 features an expandable minitower chassis, which provides up to two 5.25-inch external optical drives and up to two internal hard drives. It also features eight USB 2.0 ports, two of which are front-accessible ports for connecting devices like USB memory keys or MP3 players. All Dimension 8300 customers can order a system with or without a floppy drive, or with a Dell USB memory key.
For $1,6891, the Dimension 8300 features a 3.0GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor, 128MB DDR 400 SDRAM memory, a 60GB hard drive, a 16x DVD drive, a 17-inch (16-inch viewable) monitor and Windows XP Home. www.dell.com
