New AT&T Internet Plan for Consumers

AT&T WorldNet(R) Service Plus Includes a Suite of Communication Services, Award-Winning Customer Care and More, for Nearly 30 Percent Less Than The Leading ISP July 23 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T WorldNet(R) Service today announced a new consumer Internet access plan that combines its full-featured, award-winning Internet service for a low monthly price of $16.95 -- nearly 30 percent less than the leading competitive offer.

AT&T WorldNet Service Plus offers consumers 150 hours of Internet access per month, a suite of communications services such as e-mail, instant messaging and chat capabilities, free live and online customer care and technical support. The new plan also includes 300 minutes of AT&T WorldNet Service video e-mail capability per month. AT&T was the first major Internet service provider to introduce streaming video e-mail with a trial launched June 5. Since then, thousands of people have enjoyed sending and receiving video messages to friends and family members near and far without the need for special software, large-capacity disk drives on their computers, or lengthy download times normally associated with sending and receiving video.

The launch is supported by a national television advertising campaign developed jointly by Young & Rubicam and Wunderman, and is an evolution of the highly-effective Imagination campaign launched earlier this year.

"Now consumers have another option beside watching their monthly Internet bills get bigger as a result of recent price increases from other ISPs," said Ed Chatlos, vice president and general manager of AT&T WorldNet Service. "Best of all it's brought to them by AT&T WorldNet Service, voted best ISP of 2001 by InfoWorld, PC World and Smart Money magazines."

AT&T WorldNet Service Internet video e-mail enables subscribers with a basic Windows-based Pentium-class computer, an Internet Web camera and a microphone to create and send audio/video messages to anyone with an Internet connection and Windows operating system.

The AT&T feature doesn't require the video e-mail user or receiver to load extra software for viewing, or hassle with large video files. Recipients' e-mail boxes are never overloaded with bandwidth-hogging audio/video file attachments.

AT&T WorldNet Service is offering its subscribers the opportunity to purchase a Logitech QuickCam(R) Express(TM) camera and microphone for a special price of $29.95, plus shipping and handling. Comparable cameras have a retail value of $49.95.
