NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display Introduces Its First Thin Frame LCD Monitor

CHICAGO, June 18 -- NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display of America, Inc., today introduced the latest in its next generation of desktop display products, the NEC MultiSync LCD1850X, a thin frame monitor. "The MultiSync LCD1850X allows for space-saving multi-monitor environments by reducing the horizontal space requirements made possible by the thin frame width of the monitor," said Christopher Connery, LCD product line manager for NEC-Mitsubishi. "Financial trading floors, call centers, government and corporation environments benefit from this slimmer design, enabling the user to view more information simultaneously without taking up costly real estate space."

"The new thin frame design does not sacrifice other options found in a high end monitor," said Connery. MultiSync LCD1850X has the added feature of "easy touch" or protective glass integration, increasing the monitor's application possibilities. Weighing just 18.7 pounds, with a slim stand and a native resolution of 1280 X 1024 @ 75 Hz, the MultiSync LCD1850X is a solid investment for professionals with limited space.

Using Ambix(TM) technology, the MultiSync LCD1850X incorporates a standardized Digital Video Interface (DVI-I) port to accept digital or analog input, as well as offering a second analog port through a traditional VGA connector. The MultiSync LCD1850X is pivot-enabled and enhanced with NEC's XtraView(R) technology to allow the widest viewing angles possible in both portrait and landscape orientation.

The MultiSync LCD1850X has an optional sound bar attachment for an enhanced multimedia monitor solution. The sound bar is attachable in both portrait and landscape views and is available in black and white.

Additional Features for the MultiSync LCD1850X
  • Low power consumption and reduced emissions conserve energy and lower total cost of ownership (TCO)
  • On Screen Manager gives the user complete control of display setting adjustments
  • Compatible with PC and Apple Macintosh computers
  • Wall/arm mounting capabilities
  • OmniColor(TM) achieves standard sRGB color to create a consistent color environment
  • No-touch auto adjust provides optimal display settings upon initial power on
  • LiquidView(TM) software allows for large font/icon/tool and task bar sizes at native resolution for easier readability
  • High-bright backlight at 240 cd/m2

Flat-panel monitors offer significant savings in power consumption and cooling power. NEC-Mitsubishi Electronic Display's Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) matrix shows that depending on the current energy rates and other factors, using LCD monitors instead of CRT monitors may result in a 34 percent power consumption savings. NEC-Mitsubishi has developed a TCO matrix, available at www.necmitsubishi.com/markets-solutions/index.cfm that outlines the various costs associated with operating any of its award-winning monitors.

The MultiSync LCD1850X is available through authorized NEC-Mitsubishi resellers at an estimated street price (ESP) of $2,299 in both black and white cabinet options. NEC-Mitsubishi's monitors are backed by a three-year warranty including backlight. Technical support is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling 1-800-632-4662.
