Iomega QuikTouch Video Burner Graduates to Double-Layer DVD Capability
July 2004 – Iomega just announced that the new Iomega Super DVD QuikTouch Video Burner 12x Dual Format USB 2.0 Drive is now shipping and available, enabling one-touch video transfer to the most popular DVD or CD formats, including Double-Layer (DL) DVDs.
As the first QuikTouch drive to offer Double-Layer DVD recording capability, the new QuikTouch Dual-Format drive gives users 80 percent more capacity per disc: up to 8.5 GB, compared to 4.7 GB for single-layer DVDs. That capacity advantage makes the new QuikTouch drive the most advanced and flexible option yet for preserving video memories. Users can now record up to four hours of DVD-quality video, save over 3,000 songs, or archive up to 8.5 GB of computer data and photos on each DVD+R DL (Double-Layer) disc.
“The Iomega Super DVD QuikTouch Video Burner appeals to PC users as a complete all-in-one solution. With just one press of a button, you can transfer video memories to any of the most popular DVD and CD formats, and do it simply and reliably,” said Scott LeFevre, product general manager, branded products, Iomega Corporation. “For those who want video-editing capability, the excellent software tools that come bundled with the drive let the user delete scenes, add titles, manage soundtracks, and arrange chapters. For sheer value, the Iomega Dual-Format QuikTouch drive is the most exciting DVD writer yet, bringing dual-layer DVD recording to the general user.”
Key Features and Benefits
Based on Iomega’s Super DVD Dual-Format drive, the QuikTouch Video Burner 12x Dual Format USB 2.0 Drive integrates a video capture card to make the entire video transfer and burning process as simple as pressing a button:
