Gateway Expands Retail Distribution in Japan
July 13, 2005 -- In order to meet growing demand for its products, Gateway, Inc., today announced today a major expansion of its distribution in Japan. Starting this month, Gateway and eMachines branded PCs will be sold through 220 Gigas Ks Denki stores in Japan. The company is also expanding its relationship with Best Denki, nearly doubling its presence to 125 stores nationwide.
"Our eMachines brand is consistently one of the top retail PC sellers in Japan, and weve been very pleased by the acceptance of the Gateway brand since we returned to the market in December," said Ed Fisher, Gateways senior vice president international sales. Best Denki and Gigas Ks Denki are leading retailers of PCs and electronics, and were thrilled that our products will be widely available on their shelves this month.
Continuing the rapid expansion of the Gateway and eMachines brands in Japan, the companys products are now available through more than 500 stores throughout the country. In addition to Best Denki and Gigas Ks Denki, Gateways retail partners include Ishimaru Denki Co. Ltd., Joshin Denki Co. Ltd., Nojima Corp. and Tsukumo Co. Ltd.
