Gateway E-Series Pro Desktops Deliver Image Stability and Performance
Feb. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Professional organizations requiring stability and performance in a desktop PC need look no further than the new Gateway E-Series offerings. The systems offer both image stability and powerful technologies, including a range of Intel processors, the high-performance ATI Radeon Xpress 200 chipset with integrated Radeon X300 based graphics and a fast PCI Express x16 slot for future graphics expansion.
"With today's introduction of the Gateway E-1500 and E-2600, professional IT managers don't have to compromise when it comes to outfitting employees with powerful new PCs," said William Diehl, vice president of product marketing, Gateway. "The combination of Intel processors with ATI's chipset enables us to offer systems with feature sets unheard of at these price points, while still meeting professional customers' demands for manageability and stability."
Both the E-1500 and E-2600 have been optimized under ATI's Stable and Unified Platform Program (SUPP), ensuring professional customers of a stable image throughout the products' lifecycles. Additionally, configured with a minimum of 512MB RAM, the Gateway E-1500 and E-2600 meet or exceed Microsoft guidelines for enterprise customers planning for Windows' Vista, future-proofing the systems for years to come.
"We've invested considerable engineering resources in building a stable and robust platform," said Reuven Soraya, director of platform marketing at ATI. "In addition, our validation and quality control processes are designed specifically to meet the demanding requirements of Gateway's commercial customers."
Gateway E-2600 -- Mainstream Performance with All the Right Features
Gateway's mainstream desktop, the E-2600, is the perfect choice for mass deployment into areas where performance matters as much as cost. Nicely configured at $749, the E-2600 offers Intel Pentium 4 or Celeron D processors, ATI Radeon Xpress 200 chipset and PCI Express x16 slot, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, 533MHz or 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM and a broad range of SATA hard drive sizes.
For system flexibility and ease of deployment, the E-2600 features chassis intrusion detection, remote system monitoring and BTX technology. Gateway's innovative, tool-free BTX design makes it fast and easy to access components, eliminating the need to remove the front bezel or replace optical drive retention screws; dual system fans keep internal components cool, reduce noise and increase reliability of key components by up to 82 percent over traditional ATX designs.
The E-2600 is available in two tool-free chassis designs that leverage common internal components and identical system images. The three-bay, micro BTX case includes an integrated stand for vertical orientation, while integrated feet allow for horizontal orientation and secure stacking on deployment carts. The six-bay micro BTX case is designed with front and rear "overhangs," so the system can be grasped firmly from the top for easy movement.
Gateway E-1500 -- Ultimate Value in a Managed Desktop
With prices starting as low as $599, professional customers will find the Gateway E-1500 optimized for the lowest cost of acquisition, while offering both performance and stability in a value platform. Compliant under ATI's Stable and Unified Platform Program and exceeding Microsoft's current requirements for its next generation operating system, the E-1500 makes the decision painless when budget constraints are paramount.
Featuring a micro ATX six-bay case, the E-1500 can be configured with Intel Celeron or Pentium 4 processors and includes ATI Radeon X300 based integrated graphics and a PCI Express x16 slot. It offers a range of ATA hard drive sizes, 10/100 Ethernet LAN connectivity and 533MHz DDR2 memory.
